Barbara Farris Nunn

July 11, 1933 - March 3, 2022

Nunn, Barbara Josephine Farris, 88, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital. She was a resident of Elizabethtown at the time of her death. However, she resided the first half of her life in Louisville, Kentucky and most of the second half in Sonora, Kentucky. She was born July 11, 1933, in Louisville. She graduated from the University of Louisville and served both as a regular elementary education teacher and a special education teacher during her career. She taught for both the Jefferson County school system in Louisville and the Hardin County school system in Sonora. Most importantly, she was a beloved wife and mother of six daughters. Her passions were her faith, family, and teaching. She was a former member of Ninth and O Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church in Louisville, and later, Oak Hill Baptist Church in Sonora. Barbara Nunn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 59 years, Wilburn Overt "Bill" Nunn Jr.; her parents, Tom Lee and Ethel Lena (Thompson) Farris; one daughter, Sharon Nunn; two son-in-laws, Walter (Teena) Daniels and Jim (Robin) Farris; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters: Robin Farris; Billee (Glenn) Bridges; Kimberly (Mike) Ledden; Teena Daniels; Candace (Trevor) Clopton; one sister, Mary Lee Farris; 17 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all. Visitation will be from 4 to 8, Friday, March 11th, at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton, KY. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 9 to 11, with service beginning at 11 at South Fork Baptist Church in Hodgenville, KY. Burial will be at the Sonora Cemetery.
