Hezzie attended Center Point #1 Missionary Baptist Church all if his life. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 13 and joined Center Point in 1938. Later he was ordained to the office of deacon. He was one of the last of the older generation of decaon to pass away. He enjoyed singing and the family along with Jimmy playing the piano would sing at church homecomings and special services. One of his favorite songs "Oh, no, no, no, I'll never die." Hezzie was a WWII veteran and fought in the Battle of The Bulge. After his service to his country he pursued a BS degree in Agriculture at the University of Kentucky. Later he completed a MS and Rank 1 at the University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University. On December 22, 1951, Hezzie married Kathyrn Murray. They bought a house on the banks of the Nolin River in White Mills and raised 3 children in this house. During the last few years, he enjoyed, sitting on the front porch watching the cars and campers go by. Hezzie was employed by the Hardin County Board of Education in 1952. He taught at the following schools, Sonora High School, Lynnvale High School, West Hardin High School, and East Hardin High School. He retired after 38 years, but kept teaching as a substitute teacher for several years. Hezzie was proud of the many accomplishments of his Future Farmers of America students, especially those who held office in the West Hardin Chapter of FFA. Then also those who used their knowledge and skills learned to continue working in agriculture and those who have become leaders in diverse environments. Hezzie Williams Jr. will be missed by family and friends - only time will tell of his impact upon the lives of those who sat in his classes or observed his life as a Christian.
