Kenny Mink
July 23, 1942 - February 27, 2022
Kenneth M. Mink, 79, of Hodgenville, KY passed away unexpectedly on a beautiful, sunny, Sunday afternoon, February 27th, 2022, on his beloved farm. He was born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky to George D. and Dela Howard Mink on July 23rd, 1942. He graduated from Lynnvale High School in 1962. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Jack Mink, Cecil Mink, and Dale Mink. He is survived by his wife Norma Jackson Mink, and their four children Scott Akin (Julia) of Hodgenville, KY, Deborah Mink of Louisville, KY, Elizabeth Venegas (Jorge) of Hodgenville, KY, and Troy Mink of Elizabethtown, KY. He is also survived by his three sisters: Emma Campbell of Elizabethtown, KY, Evelyn Tidwell of Florida, and Josephine Buckles of Louisville, KY. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, all of whom he dearly loved. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Roundtop Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Lions Club, and a former member of Kentucky Cattleman's Association. He was a life-long entrepreneur owning a wrecker service, several service stations, and multiple rental properties. With his huge heart and personality, he made friends from all walks and ages whom he remembered and loved throughout his years in this community. He spent the last decade doing the work that brought the most joy to his heart, working around the farm, "piddling with the cows" and working in the barn with his wife and grandkids. Kenny leaves behind a large extended family, and a host of friends. Nothing pleased him more than passing the time of day with his friends. Whether it was at Brooke's in Sonora, the local 5-star, or Sammy's, lunch and conversation was always on the agenda. He kept a supply of dollar bills in his pocket to give to any little one that he met and probably something sweet to eat if he could get by with it. There was always a story to be told when you were with him, most assuredly some laughs. Kenny was a loyal friend and generous beyond measure. He was loved by many and will be remembered always in the stories shared of him by family and his closest friends. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, March 6 at 1:00 pm at Manakee Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Akin, officiating. Burial will be at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is on Saturday, March 5, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continues on Sunday, March 6, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
