Michael "Mike" Gene Rock Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Michael "Mike" Gene Rock, 48, of Sonora, passed away Friday August 13, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Sonora and lived his entire life on the family farm. He was a water quality technician/lab analyst for Hardin County Water District #2 and an owner of Rock N Jurba Fireworks. He loved hunting, fishing, and rooting for the UK Wildcats and the Denver Broncos. Mike enjoyed attending his children's sporting events and cheering them on. He was a talented drummer and a member of the Muddy Roads band. Mike was a life long member of Sonora United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Gene Rock, beloved grandparents, Emmett and Mae Alma Wright, and grandfather, Norman Rock. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Angela Humphrey Rock, mother, Joylene (Larry) Decker, daughter, Michaela, three sons, Gabriel, Kagan, and Devin, brother, Matthew (Sara) Rock, step brother, Wayne Decker, grandmother, Gloria Dean Rock, and many brothers and sisters of the heart. Mike also was a stand in "Unk" to Memphis McLain. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday August 17 2:00 pm at Sonora United Methodist Church in Sonora, KY. Burial will be held at the Sonora Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora. Those who knew Mike knew that he was a casual dresser.
